FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
REALIZE RECORDS ARTIST PAUL LEWIS PRODUCES SIX FIRST ROUND GRAMMY NOMINATIONS
Realize Records recording artist and Delaware native, Paul Lewis has produced six first round Grammy nominations for his 2005 release “Trading Horror Stories”. The 48th Annual Grammy nominations include Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Song of the Year for “Sometimes”, Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for “Teardrop” and “Original Sin” and Best Recording Packaging.
The CD has garnered critical acclaim and is currently charting on AAA stations throughout the East Coast. Indie-music.com, in a four-star review says “…every song on his CD should be a radio hit…this guy is gold.” The first single “Original Sin” has consistently remained in the top ten most requested songs at radio stations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region
After several successful years in Los Angeles gigging and recording, Paul returned back to the Philadelphia area to record his latest CD. “Trading Horror Stories” experiments with jazz, blues and Latin rhythms while still maintaining a rock –n roll edge with a pop sensibility. The story behind “Trading Horror Stories” relates to Paul’s experience over the course of three years observing life and his own personal misfortune. “Trading Horror Stories” takes you on an emotional rollercoaster, reflecting Paul’s state of being while writing it. The songs look at life then question, embrace, and scream back at it. Lewis is well known for his soulful voice and energetic live performances; on this CD, he questions the challenge of balancing the beauty and horror in life.
“Trading Horror Stories” was co-produced by Lewis and former YNOT band mate Darryl Joyner and recorded and engineered by Paul Chiacchierini at Racetrack Sound Studios in Gettysburg, PA. Lewis notes, "It’s pretty amazing to see my name next to Bruce Springsteen, Robert Plant and Neil Young and to have my peers acknowledge me.” Members of the Recording Academy will go through a second round of voting to narrow down the list to five finalists. The results should be made public on December 8th 2005.
Realize Records was formed in Los Angeles, CA in 2000 as an alternative for independent musicians. In 2003, Realize opened its East coast office in the greater Wilmington, DE area and has been aggressively developing artists who deliver depth in song writing and are spectacular live performers.
